Director, Corporate Communications (233)
Based: Emeryville
Reports to: SVP, Marketing
Position: Leads the planning, development, and management of corporate communications initiatives including media, analyst and investor relations (communications aspects) and internal communications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teams with SVP of marketing to drive overall messaging and positioning of Lyris and the company’s products to external and internal audiences.
- Develops messaging/story pitch platforms that PR firm/Manager of Corporate Communications implement.
- Develops PR and Thought Leadership strategy; provides guidance and direction to Mngr. Corp Comm. on implementation of programs.
- Oversees “outbound” analyst relations and works with Director of Market Intelligence to ensure that the company is well positioned with analysts at key firms including Forrester, Jupiterresearch, Aberdeen, etc.
- Works with CEO, CFO, Director of IR and external IR firm on messaging for investor presentations, earnings scripts and releases and other supporting IR materials.
- Manages direction and content team for the company’s though-leadership and best practices portal site.
- Works closely with Market Research Manager, internal subject matter experts and marketing team on the development, production and launch of PR-oriented surveys, studies and white papers.
- Manages development of the monthly employee newsletter and related employee communications and emails.
- Oversees direction and production of the company’s external and customer facing newsletters.
- Works with executive team on preparation of company presentations.
- Manages Corp Communications budgets, contracts, invoice approvals, etc.
Candidate Profile:
- Excellent and efficient writer, strong spoken skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong team player and ability to collaborate.
- Experienced team leader and manager.
- Knowledge of the technology/software industries and/or marketing processes/industry are key assets.
- 6-10 years experience in public relations or corporate communications, including managing internal and external teams.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) with specialty in marketing, communications, English or other.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience using and/or a deep understanding of email marketing, content management and/or Web analytics tools a major plus.
